Our People
Family law encompasses much more than divorce litigation, child custody arrangements and the division of assets. Our knowledgeable lawyers advise clients on non-adversarial approaches to divorce, represent unmarried partners, counsel clients prior to marriage on prenuptial agreements, and advise on legal issues related to civil unions.
At LLG, we view the divorce process as more than statistics, broken families, custody, alimony and another way to make a living. We see divorce as an opportunity to empower members of a family unit to live more responsibly and constructively. We firmly believe that wives and husbands can be better friends at the end of the divorce process than they were at the beginning. When we make such statements, to individuals or to groups, we often are challenged and told that we are whistling in the wind. However, our experience has proved to be the contrary. In many cases simply helping two spouses really talk to each other is an improvement over what has taken place in their relationship. When we help spouses better understand each other's position, we can help them restructure arrangements pertaining to children and finances. We can play a role in helping them have a more positive relationship.
